PlanForce Group, a 44-year old Minneapolis-based commercial architecture and interiors firm, is celebrating five years of employee ownership.
PlanForce was acquired by Teamshares in 2020. Teamshares is an employee ownership platform that works with small businesses nationwide to ultimately transition to 80% employee ownership.
PlanForce is currently 24% employee owned. Its employee ownership percentage grows as the company uses profits to buy out Teamshares stock.
PlanForce has worked with clients including Kurita, Tricam, MSI, Mitsubishi, and Zinpro. PlanForce has seven employee owners today, including experts in both architecture and design.
PlanForce’s President Ryan Schroeder says, “I am proud of the entire PlanForce team for our successful transition to employee ownership. Our hardworking employee owners have received more than $20,000 in company dividends over the past 5 years, and grown our ownership stake to nearly 25%. And we’re just getting started.”
Teamshares CEO and Co-Founder Michael Brown says, “PlanForce is one of the founding members of the Teamshares network, which now has more than 95 companies around the country. We are proud to work with the long-time employee owners to ensure PlanForce remains a trusted partner in the Minneapolis area for decades to come.”
