Minneapolis’ The Opus Group makes two key promotions

The Opus Group®  has promoted Phil Cattanach to senior vice president and general manager and Nick Murnane to vice president, real estate development.  

Cattanach most recently served as vice president and general manager, overseeing the development team serving the Minnesota, South Dakota and Iowa markets. He joined Opus in 2004 as a project manager and has held roles of increasing responsibility in both construction and development, working across industrial, multifamily and office projects.

A few of the projects he has led include Renewal by Andersen Value-Add Center, Sanctuary Business Center, Golden Triangle Corporate Center, Arbor Lakes Corporate Center, Dodd Road Business Center, Beacon Bluff Business Center, 3701 Wayzata Blvd. and The Loden

As senior vice president and general manager, Cattanach is responsible for advancing development opportunities in the upper Midwest markets. This includes leading the sourcing and pursuit of opportunities, upfront development feasibility studies, financial analysis, due diligence and entitlements for speculative and build-to-suit developments while providing managerial oversight to multiple teams throughout construction, design and project delivery.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of St. Thomas Opus School of Business. He also served in the U.S. Army for eight years as a commissioned officer.  

Murnane was most recently senior director of real estate development, responsible for managing new development opportunities. He joined Opus in 2010 as real estate intern and was promoted several times, leading notable multifamily projects in Minnesota including The Nic on Fifth®, 365 Nicollet, and Vesi North Loop. He is currently leading the Corsa Apartments project in St. Louis Park. 

As vice president, real estate development, Murnane is primarily responsible for advancing multifamily pursuits from new site identification, financial structuring and construction to project completion. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kansas.
