The Metropolitan Artist Loft Apartments, a multi-family project managed by Plymouth, Minn.-based Dominium, recently won a 2013 Most Enhanced Award from the Landmarks Association of St. Louis.
Originally built in 1908, the Metropolitan building sits in the heart of the Grand Center Arts District in St. Louis. The building was empty for several years until Dominium took on a $20 million renovation to turn the Metropolitan into affordable housing for artists.
The Metropolitan Artist Loft Apartments opened in November of 2012. It provides 72 one- and two-bedroom apartments and studios for painters, sculptors and clay artists. The building also houses sound studios and a dance studio.
