Minnetonka, Minn.-based Opus Design Build LLC will build a 95,000-square-foot activities center for St. Thomas Academy in Mendota Heights, Minn.
The center will include two gymnasiums, including a competition gym with retractable bleachers. This gym will be able to hold 1,600 people.
The center will also include a fitness center, weight room, locker rooms, health-education classrooms and offices for coaches and teachers.
A two-story structure will connect the new center to the main St. Thomas Academy school building. The first story of this structure will house a school store and classroom space. The second story will be home to art studios, choir rooms and band rooms.
Construction crews will break ground on the project in late April. The project should be completed this spring. Opus AE Group will serve as the architect and structural engineer on the project.
