Sawmill Station, a joint venture development by Oak Brook, Illinois-based Kensington Development Partners and IM Properties, is moving closer to completion with the opening of five stores and an additional three anchors soon to be open in the near future.
The 26-acre redevelopment project is located at the southeast corner of Dempster Street and Waukegan Road in Morton Grove, Illinois. The Residences at Sawmill Station are also currently under construction, which will deliver 250 upscale, urban-style apartments overlooking the neighboring Cook County Forest Preserve with over 15 miles of paved trails.
Among the retailers who are now open for business include Kohls, 55,000 square feet; Dollar Tree, 12,000 square feet; Starbucks, 2,280 square feet; Aspen Dental, 3,500 square feet; and Raising Canes, 3,316 square feet. Soon to be open retailers include Ross, 22,000 square feet; a grocery store, 35,000 square feet; and Cooper’s Hawk 11,950 square feet.
“Our tenants at Sawmill Station are a great representation of the leaders of the retail and restaurant industry,” said John Schoditsch, a principal with Kensington Development Partners. “These businesses adapted to challenges and ultimately thrived during this economically demanding past year. We are excited for them to anchor and prosper in this modern retail and dining mixed-use center.”
