Yes, the weather was bad, with heavy snow falling across the Detroit area. But that didn’t stop more than 200 commercial real estate professionals from gathering Feb. 25 at the Westin Southfield Detroit in Southfield, Michigan, for the second annual Detroit Commercial Real Estate Summit held by Midwest Real Estate News.
The crowd came to hear from the commercial industry’s biggest names. And these pros delivered, sharing their thoughts on the future of Detroit’s multifamily, retail, office and industrial markets. The takeaway? Things continue to look up in the Detroit market. The crowd of 200 had plenty to cheer last week.
A highlight of every commercial real estate summit is the Commercial Real Estate Titans panel featuring the top CRE pros in a market. In Detroit, Dennis Bernard, Bernard Financial Group; Peter Burton, Core Partners; John Boyd, Signature Associates; and Rob Corey, Ford Land sat on this key panel.
Jeffery Kaftan, Kaftan Communities; Kevin Dillion, Berkadia; Jennifer Chambers, Plante Moran; David Wilkins, Pillar; Paul Davis, Affordable Housing Advisors; and Matt Lester, Princeton Enterprises sat on the summit’s Apartment Development Update panel.
Steve Morris, Axis Advisors; Moddie Turay, Detroit Economic Growth Corporation; Matthew Farrell, Core Partners; Eugene Agnone, CBRE; Barry Swatsenbarg, Colliers International; and Ken Till, REDICO of the Importance of ROI panel.
Richard Borthwick, Peter Pfeiffer and Kevin Hegg, Ashley Capital.
