Itasca, Ill.-based M&R Development, in a joint venture with Deerfield, Ill.-based Globe Corporation, has broken ground on The Residences at Wilmette, a five-story, 75-unit building at 611 Green Bay Road in Wilmette, Illinois.
Designed as a transit-oriented development on the northwest corner of Green Bay Road and Wilmette Avenue, The Residences at Wilmette will be less than one block from the Wilmette Metra station. It will include a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans ranging in size from 650 to 1,550 square feet.
When complete in August 2017, the building will have 6,200 square feet of street-level retail, 7,300-square-foot landscaped terrace with outdoor seating, grilling stations, and a fire pit all designed to facilitate impromptu gatherings; a fitness center with health-club-grade cardio and weight training equipment; and a club room for private gatherings.
Other amenities include a business center/conference room, a bike storage and a dog wash and pet grooming area. An indoor parking garage with 116 resident parking spaces and personal vehicle charging stations will also be available.
The units will feature 9½-foot ceilings; modern kitchens with 42-inch upper cabinets, quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances; and upscale baths with ceramic tile floors and shower enclosures. Each apartment will have a washer/dryer, cable TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a high-efficiency furnace/AC unit. Balconies will be available, per plan.
The Residences at Wilmette is designed by Oak Brook, Ill.-based Schwarz Lewis Design Group while Chicago-based McHugh Construction has been retained as the project’s general contractor.
