NAI Hiffman reached an agreement with industrial real estate firm Nicolson Porter & List (NPL) to bring the companies together under the NAI Hiffman brand and platform effective immediately, with full integration to be completed by March 1, 2019. The combined company will operate as NAI Hiffman and expand its footprint at its Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois headquarters to accommodate recent client and employee growth.

NAI Hiffman is the leading independent commercial real estate services firm in the Midwest, providing a full-service platform to owners and occupiers of office, industrial and retail commercial real estate. It currently operates from 13 locations throughout the Chicago Metropolitan area and the Midwest.

“In a rapidly consolidating marketplace, NAI Hiffman continues to maintain an independent ownership structure; we achieve outstanding client growth year over year, and we continue to win new private and institutional clients daily,” said David Petersen, NAI Hiffman CEO. “The merger of our firms allows us to remain independent and deliver personal and adaptable services to our clients while remaining nimble. We are really excited about the future.”

NPL is the oldest industrial real estate services provider in Chicago with a rich history dating back to 1910. It shares a similar independent ownership structure as NAI Hiffman and provides a very complementary service offering based upon long-standing relationships serving private and institutional clients in the Chicago metropolitan marketplace. Similar to NAI Hiffman, the principals of NPL have also been some of its most successful producers. The NPL team will bring additional investment services experience as well as development expertise to the NAI Hiffman team.

“We are very excited to chart the future with NAI Hiffman; we look forward to being a part of the growth that NAI Hiffman has achieved in recent years,” said Paul Gearen, NPL’s president. “The combined power of our two industrial teams will bring more coverage, market intelligence, streamlined service offerings and expertise to our collective clients.”

Comprised of more than 160 real estate professionals, NAI Hiffman provides leasing, management, investment sales and capital markets representation for owners and occupiers of commercial real estate in the Chicago metro market. It currently leases and manages an 80-million-square-foot plus portfolio of over 700 commercial properties throughout metropolitan Chicago, Northwest Indiana and Southeast Wisconsin.
