Detroit officials received some good news yesterday with the announcement that Meijer will build a third grocery store in the city as part of a $60 million mixed-use East Jefferson Development off East Jefferson.
The new store is expected to open in 2019. It will provide jobs for about 70 people.
The new mixed-used development at 1475 E. Jefferson will include more than 200 multifamily units on top of the 42,000-square-foot Meijer. The development will also include about 350 underground parking spaces and a refurbished city park. The development is a joint venture between Lormax Stern Detroit Development and Prime Development.
