Summit Eye Center has started construction on a new medical office building in phase one of the Summit Village development in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
The Summit Eye Center project team includes Guy Gronberg Architects, Olsson Associates, SRKO Contacting, Superior Bowen and Commerce Bank.
“We are excited to welcome Summit Eye Center to Summit Village and look forward to the completion of their new facility early next year,” said Michael L. VanBuskirk, Executive Managing Director and Principal at Newmark Grubb Zimmer, in a written statement.
Summit Village is being developed by Newmark Grubb Zimmer on behalf of Unity Realty. Phase one can accommodate up to 700,000 square feet of office, medical office, hotel and other commercial uses. The park is conveniently located at the interchange of I-470 and 50 Highway, south of Unity Village and near St. Luke’s East Hospital.
The Summit Eye Center site is located along the newly constructed Blue Parkway and round-a-bout at Colbern Road. Additional public infrastructure is also under construction including a road extension that opens additional sites for development.
Adjacent to the Summit Eye development, a preliminary approval is in place for a pad site that can accommodate a 20,000 square foot office building. Sites in Summit Village are being offered for sale or build-to-suits can be completed to accommodate specific needs of companies looking to locate or expand in Lee’s Summit. Phases two and three of Summit Village include an additional 140 acres master planned for over 1.5 million square feet of various mixed-use development.
