Geoffrey Kasselman, an executive managing director of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank in Chicago and head of its national industrial practice, was recently elected Vice President of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors® (SIOR).
The election took place during the SIOR Spring World Conference in Las Vegas in late April. Kasselman will be installed as Vice President during the SIOR Fall World Conference in Nashville this October. After serving a one-year term as Vice President, he will rise to President-Elect for one year, and then will become President of SIOR in the fall of 2016.
“It is an exciting opportunity to be elected by my peers to join SIOR’s ultimate leadership team. I look forward to pursuing an array of important initiatives and working closely with SIOR’s executive committee and Board of Directors,” said Kasselman, in a written statement.
Kasselman is the first “LEED AP” accredited professional in the history of SIOR to hold these positions. He plans to help lead SIOR’s sustainability efforts during his leadership tenure.
Since 1987, Kasselman has completed more than 1,000 projects totaling more than $1 billion, receiving numerous industry awards such as the “Largest Dollar Volume Transaction, Industrial” award from SIOR-Chicago, the Illinois Real Estate Journal “Excellence Award” and the prestigious Commercial Forum Broker of the Year “Gold Award” from the Chicago Association of Realtors.
