NewMark Merrill Companies has leased to Hobby Lobby at the Stratford Crossing shopping center in Bloomingdale, Illinois, located on Gary Avenue between Army Trail Road and Schick Road. Hobby Lobby opened for business in May, adding an additional anchor to the center.
“We are pleased to welcome Hobby Lobby to Stratford Crossing,” said Sandy Sigal, CEO and president of NewMark Merrill Companies which owns and manages the retail center in west suburban Chicago. “We have been focused on finding the right mix of tenants for the center and surrounding community. The addition of Hobby Lobby, as well as Party City, Buffalo Wild Wings and Planet Fitness within the past year, have brought new vitality to the center and quality businesses to the community.”
Hobby Lobby, considered a leader in the arts and crafts industry, maintains 558 stores across the nation. The retailer leased the space, citing Stratford Crossing’s high-visibility location, strong traffic count, the area’s demographics and the management provided by NewMark Merrill as reasoning for the selection. Hobby Lobby will occupy approximately 42,000 square feet next to PetSmart on the southern end of the center, and employs approximately 30 employees.
