Next Realty has announced the completion of 15,000 square feet of retail lease transactions at centers it owns and manages in Niles and Wilmette.

In the Chicago metropolitan area, Next Realty has a portfolio of approximately one dozen centers, from the recently acquired centers in Country Club Hills and Chicago (Nagle and Devon) to those it has owned for years in Wilmette (Wilmette Commons) and Niles (Sports Authority Plaza).

Among the leases most recently completed at Sports Authority Plaza are the following:

  • American Mattress, renewal of 3,000 square feet of inline retail space to sell mattresses and related bedding/sleep merchandise.
  • Firestone, 5,800 square feet groundlease for a comprehensive tire center.

Sports Authority Plaza, located at the intersection of Harlem Avenue and Dempster Street in Niles, Ill. is a 120,000-square-foot power center anchored by Sports Authority, Michael’s, Big Lots and Lands’ End. With the completion of these leases, there are two spaces ranging from 1,200 square feet to 5,800 square feet available (divisible).

At Wilmette Commons, Chia’sso has completed a lease for approximately 5,000 square feet of space. Chia’sso is an upscale boutique housewares retailer. Wilmette Commons is a 35,000-square-foot center located less than one half mile north of Old Orchard Shopping Center. The tenant mix includes Chase Bank, AAA Travel, Love’s Yogurt and Palm Beach Tan. With this lease Wilmette Commons has one divisible 2,300-square-foot space available for lease.

These transactions, coupled with a series of leases completed earlier, bring the Next Portfolio to approximately 99 percent leased.
