Nicholas & Associates, a comprehensive construction management firm providing design/build and general contracting services, has named Anthony Hansen as director of marketing. In this role, Hansen will oversee all marketing strategies for Nicholas & Associates and its affiliated businesses, including Wingspan Development Group, as the firm expands into new markets, including Milwaukee and Southeast Wisconsin, Central Florida, Phoenix and Boulder, Colo.
“For more than 40 years, we’ve been steadily – and largely organically – growing our family business. Now that our work and reputation has led us into multiple commercial construction sectors, not to mention new geographic markets because of Wingspan Development, we knew it was time to add someone of Anthony’s caliber and skills to our team,” said Nick Papanicholas, Jr., president of Nicholas & Associates. “Anthony’s experience in marketing and branding willdefinitely help us magnify our relationships and increase our visibility as we take our work to the national stage.”
A 20-year veteran of marketing for primarily architecture and design firms, Hansen most recently was director of marketing for ISI Installations Specialists, Inc., the country’s second-largest commercial furniture and architectural wall, window and millwork installation firm. There, he helped the firm achieve national recognition and built an internal culture of brand ambassadors. Prior to that, Hansen served in senior marketing roles for Kayhan, a full-service furniture dealer in Schaumburg, Ill.; Wight & Company, an architecture, engineering and construction firm in Darien, Ill.; and Perlman Architects of Arizona in Phoenix.
“Whether it’s their expert craftsmanship, dedication, personal approach to projects or outstanding service, Nicholas & Associates has been the gold standard for commercial construction firms in Chicago’s suburbs, so I feel confident the firm will be embraced just as enthusiastically outside of Chicagoland,” said Hansen. “I’m excited to join the firm at this juncture of its history and help tell its story as it prepares to scale up in additional markets.”
Known for its broad scope of construction work in the recreation, education, municipal and mixed-use sectors throughout the Chicago suburbs – such as the Nicholas Sportsplex (Mount Prospect, Ill.), Lincoln Junior High School (Skokie, Ill.) and Village of Mount Prospect Fire Station No. 13 – Nicholas & Associates has kept very busy recently with a steady pipeline of Class A multifamily projects. In just two years, the company has completed more than 827 rental units locally, with an additional 1,066 units at various stages of development across the country. The firm is also building out select retail space within Wingspan’s multifamily projects, such as the ground-floor Caputo’s grocery store in Maple Street Lofts in downtown Mount Prospect, Ill.
Hansen is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in architecture. He holds the LEED Green Associate credential from the U.S. Green Building Council and is heavily involved in volunteer efforts for the City of Yorkville and Yorkville Community Unit School District 115.
