Northern Builders, Inc. has completed a 40,231-square-foot corporate headquarters for Sodick, Inc. The new development features an equipment showroom with floor-to-ceiling glass, high-end corporate office space, training rooms and engineering facilities for EDM machine testing. The facility also incorporates Feng Shui and green building design principles.
Located at 601 Commerce Street within Woodfield Business Center, the property boasts high-profile exposure along I-90 with close proximity to O’Hare International Airport. A Class 6B real estate tax incentive was obtained for this project and construction was completed by Northern Builders in less than five months.
“As a team, Northern Builders, Sodick, Inc., Harris Architects and NAI Hiffman collaborated to successfully value-engineer this project and discover new levels of functional efficiency. Beyond the construction, we ultimately created an experience for Sodick’s clients as well as a first-class work environment for their valued employees,” said Matthew Grusecki, senior vice president of Northern Builders.
NAI Hiffman executive vice president, John Cash, and vice president, David Haigh, as well as Tak O’Haru, president of WHITE CUBE LLC, represented Sodick. Michael Magliano and Al Caruana of Cushman & Wakefield represented Avanti Property Group on the land sale.
