NorthPoint Development and NAI Capital Realty in late June closed a long-term lease with DEMDACO for a 326,650-square-foot distribution center that will be custom built for the company at Logistics Park Kansas City in Edgerton, Kansas, a southwest suburb of Kansas City.
DEMDACO specializes in artist-driven gift and home décor products. The company manages all aspects of bringing its products to market, including distribution, which has been handled from North Kansas City for the last 12 years.
Logistics Park Kansas City is a 1,100-acre master-planned distribution and warehouse development that will be anchored by BNSF Railway’s newest intermodal facility, which will open in the fourth quarter of 2013.
The construction of the DEMDACO building is the third major distribution facility announced for the logistics park and will join the new DeLong Grain facility and a new 500,000-square-foot speculative warehouse building being constructed at the park.
DEMDACO will bring the total square footage under development at Logistics Park Kansas City to more than 850,000 square feet.
