Skanska, a global provider in development and construction, announced that anchor tenant Norton Rose Fulbright has expanded its presence at Norton Rose Fulbright Tower, the 28-story, Class-A office destination located at 1550 Lamar St. on the eastern edge of downtown Houston.
By taking occupancy of an additional floor, the global firm has increased its footprint by approximately 20,000 square feet to a total of 139,000.
“This expansion reflects our commitment to delivering best-in-class client service and recruiting even more top talent in a market that has been important to our firm for generations,” said Jeff Cody, Norton Rose Fulbright’s Global and US Managing Partner. “We have increased our space to better support how our teams work today and into the future. Norton Rose Fulbright Tower provides a special workplace experience that aligns with our culture and values, fostering collaboration, connection, and flexibility.”
Following the firm’s move into the additional floor, Norton Rose Fulbright Tower is now 63% occupied and more than 70% leased, reflecting continued momentum at one of Houston’s premier office environments focused on employee experience, sustainability, and connectivity. The space will accommodate the firm’s continued growth while expanding access to the collaborative workspaces and amenities that have become hallmarks of the tower.
“Norton Rose Fulbright has been an integral part of the vision for this building since its inception,” said Matt Damborsky, executive vice president for Skanska USA Commercial Development in Houston. “This law firm’s decision to expand within the tower speaks to the strength of the workplace environment we set out to create and reinforces the continued demand for thoughtfully designed, amenity-rich environments in Downtown Houston.”
As companies continue to evaluate how and where employees work, Norton Rose Fulbright Tower has emerged as a destination for organizations seeking a workplace that supports both productivity and culture. The building’s LEED Platinum, WELL Platinum, and WiredScore Platinum certifications reflect a holistic approach to performance, prioritizing wellness, connectivity, sustainability, and operational excellence.
Beyond the workplace itself, tenants have access to a collection of hospitality-inspired amenities designed to enhance the workday. From morning coffee at Tenfold and client lunches at Hugo Ortega’s Zaranda to fitness, wellness, and gathering spaces throughout the property, the tower offers an experience that extends well beyond the traditional office. At the top of the building, The Summit provides a distinctive venue for meetings, events, and collaboration, complemented by landscaped rooftop gardens that make it a standout in Downtown Houston.
Norton Rose Fulbright’s expansion adds to a growing roster of organizations that have selected the tower, including Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Hicks Johnson PLLC. Together, these commitments underscore a broader flight to quality among companies seeking highly amenitized, sustainably designed workplaces in Houston’s central business district.
With additional tenants currently building out space and new leasing activity underway, Norton Rose Fulbright Tower continues to build momentum as one of Downtown Houston’s most sought-after office addresses.
