The Enron name will forever be associated with greed and scandal. Now one past headquarters — located in Omaha — of that failed company has been sold, thanks to the efforts of Investors Realty, Inc.
The former Enron Headquarters at 24th & Dodge Streets in Omaha was recently sold to an affiliated company with NuStyle Development.
The 16-story, 250,000-square-foot building was built in phases beginning in 1957, and has been vacant for about 10 years. The building was built by Northern Natural Gas Company, which merged with Houston Natural Gas and later became Enron. Enron moved the headquarters to Houston soon after the merger. The building was then occupied by First National Bank of Omaha for about 10 years.
NuStyle plans to renovate the entire building and parking structures. The renovation will include new windows and complete new mechanical and electrical systems. The building will become 180 units of market-rate apartments along with 200 indoor, surface and underground parking stalls.
R.J. Neary and Ryan Zabrowski of Omaha’s Investors Realty, Inc. represented NuStyle Development in this transaction.
