Chicago has always been a key hub for the hospitality industry. This spring, downtown Chicago will make a bit of hotel history when Hyatt opens one of the first two Hyatt Centric hotels here.
Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago will open in April of this year. It will be one of the first hotels as part of Hyatt’s full-service Hyatt Centric lifestyle brand.
The new hotel will open at the corner of Clark and Monroe streets — 100 W. Monroe, to be exact. There’s an existing 22-story tower there, one that once was an office building. When Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago opens this April, it will bring 257 new hotel rooms, a rooftop bar and a French restaurant to the Loop. The restaurant, Cochon Volant, will be run by master chef Roland Liccioni.
So what is Hyatt Centric? This new brand of Hyatt hotels is designed to appeal to both business and leisure travelers, according to Hyatt. And they will be located in the hearts of urban areas, places like downtown Chicago.
“Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago will acutely embody what the new brand is all about, which is putting guests in the center of the action in the best destinations,” said John Murphy, managing principal of Integrated Clark Monroe, which owns the hotel, in a written statement.
Interstate Hotels & Resorts will manage the new hotel.
The new hotel will also feature 2,513 square feet of meeting space and a 24-hour fitness center.
