National property development firm Oppidan Investment Company has announced plans to develop a 27,800-square-foot retail development at the southwest corner of Highway 5 and Cherry Street in Waconia, Minnesota.
Oppidan received approval for the development from the Waconia City Council in November.
Waconia Crossings will include three single-tenant buildings and one multi-tenant building. Confirmed tenants include AT&T, Dollar Tree, Culver’s, Holiday Stationstores, Starbucks and Sport Clips. Oppidan is currently seeking two additional tenants to fill out the development.
Though just more than four square miles in size, Waconia is an attractive community for retail development as it draws visitors from neighboring communities who recreate on its lake and enjoy its wineries, breweries, orchards, restaurants and more.
Oppidan also owns a 1.87-acre lot directly across Cherry Street from the site of Waconia Crossings. The company is still determining its development plans for that site.
Construction on Waconia Crossings is expected to begin in the spring of 2017 and to be completed that fall.
