The Opus Group revealed its plans for Mokena Corporate Center, a two-building industrial development in Mokena, Illinois, totaling 268,225 square feet. Construction of the buildings, which will run concurrently, began this month with completion scheduled for June 2020.
“We’re excited to have this modern industrial development underway,” said Mike Robinson, senior director of real estate development for Opus. “The Mokena market is ripe for industrial growth and this project will offer functional space for warehouse and distribution tenants.”
The project will sit on nearly 16 acres and offer convenient access to the LaGrange Avenue and I-80 interchange with visibility from I-80. The first building will be 154,581 square feet and the second building will be 113,644 square feet. Opus is the developer, design-builder and architect and structural engineer of record. Lee & Associates will market the speculative buildings for lease.
“Our team is very much looking forward to working with Opus on this project,” said Terry Grapenthin, principal at Lee & Associates. “Due to the lack of existing industrial space, we are confident that this premier location, coupled with strong tenant demand in the submarket, will allow us to stabilize the buildings quickly.”
