The Opus Group has promoted Mike Yungerman to executive vice president and general manager, where he will be responsible for the leadership, development and overall management of Opus’ Chicago and Indianapolis offices.
In addition, Yungerman will continue to guide operating strategy and growth plans for Opus across the Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin and Michigan markets, as well as the pursuit and execution of real estate development opportunities within these geographies.
Yungerman joined Opus in 2005 and has been promoted multiple times to roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently he served as senior vice president and general manager overseeing real estate development for Opus’ Chicago and Indianapolis offices.
Yungerman brings more than 25 years of commercial real estate experience to his expanded role, developing more than 23 million-square-feet of space and managing significant Opus joint venture projects. Yungerman reports to Matt Rauenhorst, executive vice president and general manager of Opus.
Some recent projects that Yungerman has overseen include Dash Downers Grove apartments in Downers Grove, Ill., Tollway Corporate Center in North Aurora, Ill., the Tire Wholesalers/Armory Industrial development in Oak Park, Mich., and Point 70 Logistics Park in Mount Comfort, Ind. In the past three years, the Opus team he manages has developed more than 280 market-rate apartment units, 548 student living beds and 4.9-million-square-feet of industrial space in the Chicago and Indianapolis markets.
Yungerman holds a Master of Business Administration degree in real estate finance from DePaul University and Bachelor of Applied Science degree in construction management from Western Illinois University. He is a member of NAIOP, the Association of Industrial Real Estate Brokers, and the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR).
