Opus Design Build, L.L.C announced July 25 that it has been awarded a contract by the Kansas Health Foundation to design and construct a new three-story building that will serve as the Kansas Leadership Center’s statewide headquarters and a conference center for the Kansas Health Foundation.
Launched by the Kansas Health Foundation in 2005, the Wichita-based Kansas Leadership Center promotes civic leadership with the goal of creating stronger, healthier communities. This new 36,000-square-foot facility will serve multiple functions for the organization, including hosting conferences, group meetings, lectures and trainings. Designed to achieve LEED Gold certification, the building will feature office and classroom space as well as a 210-person auditorium.
“We are delighted to be working with the Kansas Leadership Center on its new headquarters,” said Oscar Healy, senior director, construction, Opus Design Build, L.L.C. “This new facility will help KLC and KHF to expand and enhance their services to residents and communities throughout the state.”
The new facility will be located in close proximity to the current Foundation building, allowing for greater collaboration and giving visitors easy access to either organization.
Construction of the Kansas Leadership Center and Kansas Health Foundation Conference Center is set to begin this month with completion slated for July of 2013.
Opus Design Build, L.L.C. is serving as the design-builder on the project. Opus AE Group, Inc. will serve as architect and engineer of record.
