Golub & Company, a Chicago-based real estate investment and development firm, is pleased to announce robust leasing activity at Orrington Plaza in Evanston, Illinois. Orrington Plaza is a 20-story building prominently located in the heart of Evanston’s Central Business District and has long been a landmark on the Evanston skyline. Led by Steve Degodny, vice president of leasing for Golub & Company, the building has achieved more than 90,000 square feet of new leases since 2022.
Among the leases, one to highlight is the relocation of global safety science research leader UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement to the building. The organizations collectively leased 53,000 square feet of space and will move from Northbrook where they had been based since 1979.
Evanston was selected due to its location within a vibrant metropolitan area, a diverse resident and employee population, excellent public transportation, proximity to prestigious universities, locally owned businesses and restaurants, and views of Lake Michigan.
Another recent addition to the building is LeTour, Amy Morton’s newest eatery offering contemporary French-Moroccan cuisine. The hotspot opened in 2022 and has attracted fanfare from across the city. Further enhancing the tenant experience, Dos Bros Fresh Mexican Grill recently signed a lease and will be opening soon.
To round out the strong leasing activity, Cardinal Intellectual Property and Fidus Investment Corporation also renewed leases at the property within the last year.
