Paine/Wetzel/TCN Worldwide has completed a sale including land and two industrial buildings in Darien.
Great Dane Trailers has purchased a 9.56-acre site at 1035 S. Frontage Road in Darien to accommodate the expansion of their operations. The site houses a 2,100-square-foot office building and a 2,100-square-foot maintenance building. The campus fronts the I-55/Stevenson Expressway and is located just east of the Cass Avenue interchange.
Established in 1900, Great Dane has gone from a being a small, steel fabricating company to the No. 1 trailer manufacturer in the world. In the early 1940s, the company built the first produce van with a wet ice bunker and a gas engine and blower system, which was soon followed by the first factory finished refrigerated trailer. Great Dane has division offices in Savannah, Georgia and Chicago, as well as seven manufacturing plants in the U.S. In addition, Great Dane utilizes a network of company-owned branches, full-line independent dealers, and parts-only independent dealers and has distribution points across North and South America
