Paine/Wetzel TCN Worldwide (PW) team members recently spent a day volunteering with Shriners Hospitals for Children. Shriners is a non-profit organization focusing on innovative pediatric specialty care, world-class research and outstanding medical education.
This marks PW’s third annual company-wide volunteering day. The firm has made a commitment to give back and contribute to their community.
Shriners’ 22 locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico provide advanced care for children with orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate.
The PW team was able to help Shriners with everyday housekeeping items such as laundry, gardening, and kitchen cleaning, the creation care packages for families and assisting in the sorting of donated items. By volunteering for such tasks, it allows the hospital to allocate funds to where they are needed most…back to the children.
Jerry Sullivan, Principal of PW said the team has embraced the mission that beyond providing monetary support, they believe in rolling up their sleeves and being a hands-on partner in our community.
“It is more than a ‘feel-good’ action, our team knows that so many vital organizations not only thrive but actually survive thanks to volunteer support,” he continued. “We are humbled by being a small part of that undertaking.”
As an effort to continue and expand opportunities to volunteer, the PW team will continue its relationship with Shriners, and has committed to being part of their annual Halloween and Christmas parties.
