Brentwood, Tennessee-based GBT Realty Corporation recently announced that cult-favorite restaurant Pappy’s Smokehouse is the latest business to join the tenant roster at The Shoppes of Mid Rivers in St. Louis’ suburban community of St. Peters, Missouri.

Named the “Best Ribs in America” by Food Network, this St. Louis staple is already under construction.

Completed in 2018, The Shoppes of Mid Rivers is the largest retail project in greater St. Louis since 2006. The mix of retailers and restaurants includes Outback Steakhouse, Academy Sports, HomeGoods, Ulta Beauty, Marshalls and more. Pappy’s Smokehouse is expected to open its doors in late October in the 2800-square foot space facing I-70 along the North Outer Road.

Pappy’s flagship location in the Midtown neighborhood has served its signature dry-rubbed baby back ribs since 2008, quickly becoming a staple in St. Louis’ BBQ restaurant scene. “We’re thrilled that Pappy’s Smokehouse chose The Shoppes of Mid Rivers for its second location,” says Alan Lloyd, senior vice president, leasing, GBT Realty. “Residents west of St. Louis have been clamoring for a Pappy’s close to home.”

“Watching how the community west of St. Louis has been growing, we saw the area as ideal for our second location,” said Niki Puto, co-owner of Pappy’s Smokehouse. “The Shoppes of Mid Rivers checked all our boxes including a highly visible location and a great tenant mix.”
