Peak Construction Corp. has been selected as design builder by Westfield Ford in Countryside to oversee their $4 million car dealership renovation and expansion. Westfield Ford will be the first LEED accredited Ford dealership in the State of Illinois.
The facility will remain open during the multiple-phase, seven month construction period that started March 18. Peak is teamed with Heitman Architects Inc. and will perform MEP trades under a design/build format to allow for fast-track completion of the project.
The project will also comply with the 2012 Energy Conservation Code, which has strict prerequisites regarding the exterior shell, including the roof and façade finishes. Totaling 38,500 square feet, the Westfield renovation and expansion will provide significant improvements for both the dealership’s 70 employees and thousands of monthly customers, including a new 12,865-square-foot showroom, a 1,260-square-foot customer service area and a 1,800-square-foot parts department. The facility also features 33 service bays.
