Peoria’s Midwest Foundation adds director of business development

Peoria, Illinois-based Midwest Foundation has added Jon Nieman to lead its business development department.

Nieman brings more than 30 years of experience in marine construction to Midwest Foundation, including numerous dredging assignments.

Nieman previously served as vice president of operations for the rivers and lakes division of Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, LLC, an international dredging and marine company based in Oak Brook, Illinois. Among his major assignments for Great Lakes were dredging projects for Lake Worth and Lake Trafford in Florida, Lewis and Clark Recreation Area in South Dakota, Crystal Lake and Clear Lake in Iowa and Lake Decatur in Illinois.

In his career, Nieman has orchestrated national and international dredging projects including the $43 million Lake Carriazo project in Puerto Rico and a $15 million dredging operation for the Woodrow Wilson Bridge spanning the Potomac River.
