PerkSpot doubles space in River North

Following a $50 million infusion of capital last August and a significant recruiting push, PerkSpot has signed a 14,020-square-foot expansion at 320 West Ohio Street in Chicago, bringing the firm’s total square footage at the building to more than 27,000 square feet. Cresa Chicago managing principal Allen Rogoway represented the company in the recent transactions at 320 W. Ohio.

This is the second expansion in the last 13 months for the rapidly growing tech firm, which moved in June 2018 from approximately 5,000 square feet at 216 W. Ohio Street. PerkSpot, a perk program where employees can gain rewards and exclusive discounts for outstanding performance, hired Rogoway in 2017 to develop a strategic real estate plan that could accommodate impending growth while maintaining corporate culture of collaboration and camaraderie across all corporate disciplines.

“It’s always fun to work with an executive team committed to culture,” said Rogoway. “The PerkSpot team was smart and engaged. They really thought through their growth stages and how they would impact employees and their day-to-day work experience.”

With a workforce made up mostly of city-dwelling millennials and Gen Zers, Rogoway presented PerkSpot with 320 W. Ohio Street—one of the few true brick and timber loft office buildings of size in River North that could create a clear path for expansion and that had immediate access to public transportation. Ownership was committed to a base building improvement plan that aligned with Perkspot’s 2018 summer relocation plans making the building an ideal choice for a company on the cusp of explosive growth.

“Rather than put us in more space than we needed from day one, Al was especially diligent and thoughtful devising a plan for our company,” said Jace Mouse from PerkSpot. “Our headquarters aligns with our culture and allows us to recruit and maintain talent.”
