Consumer products company Spectrum Brands — Pet, Home & Garden has selected St. Louis as its headquarters.
Spectrum Brands is a supplier of specialty pet supplies, lawn and garden and home pest-control products. Its products are sold in more than 1 million stores across 140 countries.
The project includes a $1.29 million capital investment and the leasing of 8,000 square feet of additional space in St. Louis to house a number of new management positions.
The Missouri Department of Economic Development offered a strategic economic incentive package that the company can receive if it meets strict job creation and investment criteria.
“Pet, Home & Garden’s decision to expand and invest in its headquarters in St. Louis is a true testament to the strength of Missouri’s competitive business climate,” said St. Louis Gov. Jay Nixon. “With a central location, low business taxes and a workforce that’s second to none, Missouri has what it takes to compete and win in a growing global economy.”
