FIKA, a new plant-based, gluten-free brunch restaurant, has secured a 3,095-square-foot space at 1359 Plainfield Ave. NE in the growing Creston Neighborhood of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The restaurant will be located on the ground floor of the Lofts on Grove apartments, a prime location for the business’s new venture. FIKA is scheduled to open by Spring 2025.
Owned by Becca and Nick Van Liere (of Rise Authentic Baking Co.), FIKA will offer a unique menu of breakfast and lunch items such as pancakes, savory hash, chik’n and waffles, fresh salads, and sandwiches. The restaurant will also feature a small market with curated packaged goods and deli items as well as coffee, tea, and espresso beverages in partnership with Squibb Coffee.
The 3,095-square-foot lease was negotiated by Todd Leinberger of NAI Wisinski of West Michigan and Zach Baker of First Companies, who represented the landlord in the transaction. Victoria Hansen of Hansen Properties Group assisted the Van Lieres in finding the perfect space for FIKA.
