PREMIER Design + Build Group and Bridge Development Partners broke ground on a 323,343-square-foot distribution warehouse on Sept. 19 in Cicero, Illinois.
Representatives from the Town of Cicero, executives from Cornerstone Architects, CBRE, Associated Bank, Swift Structural Design and SpaceCo, Inc. attended the groundbreaking.
The western suburb of Cicero is home to more than 150 factories and with plenty of heavy industrial businesses, the need for distribution facilities is clear, according to the statement.
The new facility is located on an 18-acre lot and is less than a mile from I-290. The demolition of existing slabs and removal of buried foundations took place prior to the new construction. It will feature 50 exterior truck dock positions, expandable to 66, 36′ clear height warehouse and an EPDM roofing system. Also included is an ESFR fire protection sprinkler system, 3,000 amp, 277/480 volt, 3-phase, 4-wire electrical service will be brought to the building. The parking lot will host 273 parking stalls and 77 trailer stalls.
Vice Presidents Mark Melone and Julie Pisczcek are overseeing the project, Diana Wolfe is the project manager, Alexandra Jimenez is the assistant project manager and Scott Lebak is the field superintendent from PREMIER Design + Build Group, LLC. Cornerstone Architects, Ltd. is providing architectural services, SPACECO Inc. and SWIFT STRUCTURAL DESIGN are the civil and structural engineers respectively. George Maragos, Mitch Adams and Nicole Mentone of CBRE are representing the building. Bridge Development Partners, LLC is the developer behind the project.
