On Sept. 10, PREMIER Design + Build Group celebrated the groundbreaking of a state-of-the-art speculative warehouse located at 2201 Lunt Ave. in Elk Grove Village. Among the attendees were Bridge Development Partners LLC, Hillwood Investment Properties, Wanxiang America Corp., Fifth Third Bank and Elk Grove Village city officials.
The existing structure at 2201 was demolished and cleared. The new facility will be 150,520 square feet upon completion and airfreight users will have accommodations of a 1 per 4,500 dock ratio.
Design elements of the new building include T5 lighting, an early suppression fast response fire protection system and a 32-foot clear ceiling height for maximum storage space inside the facility. The structure is designed for multiple tenants. The exterior will feature modern glass curtain walls.
Ample onsite parking will accommodate 185 stalls. Stormwater management will be provided by an onsite retention pond.
Mark Melone of PREMIER Design + Build is the project manager overseeing the development and Johnathan Nelsen is the project superintendent. Cornerstone Architects Ltd. is delivering architectural services and Spaceco Inc. is the civil engineer. Tom Rodeno, David Bercu and Patrick Turner of Colliers International are brokering the facility.
