PREMIER Design + Build Group has completed work on a spec warehouse near Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport for real estate developer Seefried Industrial Properties. This new, 72,000-square-foot warehouse is located at 2100 S. Wolf Road in Des Plaines, Illinois.
The site was previously home to a machine shop warehouse that PREMIER’s team demolished to clear the way for this new, Class A industrial property. PREMIER’s team repurposed the concrete from the demolition by crushing the material and re-using it for granular backfill.
PREMIER and Seefried teamed with Harris Architects, Inc. for architectural design services. Kimley-Horn provided civil engineering services. PREMIER’s Amy DePinto served as project manager, working with project superintendent Dan Wolf and Michael Long, senior vice president/Midwest market leader.
“This new building will be highly attractive to tenants who are searching for a leading-edge facility in the booming O’Hare submarket,” said Long.
The new facility has a 30-foot clear height. The building envelope consists of load-bearing insulated precast wall panels, structural steel, glass and glazing. It includes two drive-in doors, eight dock doors, seven future dock openings and an early suppression fast response (ESFR) sprinkler system. The warehouse design is configured to suit either a single tenant or two separate tenants. The site was fully landscaped as part of the project scope.
