Steve Palec, managing principal of Cresa’s Milwaukee office, has earned a 2012 Deal of the Year award from the Commercial Association of Realtors Wisconsin in the association’s office category.
This annual award recognizes the “best of the best” in commercial real estate brokerage in Wisconsin. Palec received his award for representing Baker Tilly in its 66,000-square-foot office relocation to the US Bank building in downtown Milwaukee.
Palec has worked in the commercial real estate industry for 27 years and has been involved in some of the largest office transactions in southeastern Wisconsin. Some of Palec’s significant transactions include Baker Tilly, Manpower, GE Healthcare, Cramer-Krassel and the Office of the Commissioner of Major League Baseball.
“It was a honor to assist Baker Tilly, but there were a number of people whose collaboration was critical to the success of this transaction,” said Palec. “Foley and Lardner was very proactive and expended significant efforts to restack their floors to accommodate Baker Tilly; another tenant in the building agreed to relocate; and US Bank, the building’s owner, also shifted its operations in order to provide another piece of the 66,000-square-foot requirement. Kevin Armstrong, the listing broker who I have known for more than 25 years, did an outstanding job. It was the culmination of all these efforts that permitted the tenant to get exactly what it needed.”
Cresa Milwaukee’s senior vice president Paul Galbraith was also nominated for his representation of Milwaukee Water Counsel Global Water Center in the mixed-use sale category.
