Prologis and MillerKnoll broke ground on a major expansion at 3001 Afton Drive in Batavia, Ohio. The logistics project will add 112,320 square feet to the existing 617,760-square-foot warehouse and distribution facility, giving MillerKnoll the space it needs to support its growing Design Within Reach home furnishings business across North America.
An estimated 30 full-time local jobs will be created once the project is complete, bringing the total number of jobs at this location to approximately 150 employees.
The groundbreaking event was attended by representatives from Prologis, MillerKnoll and Hemmer Construction Company (Hemmer) as well as Williamsburg Township and Clermont County officials. During the event, MillerKnoll also announced a $5,800 donation to the Williamsburg Township Emergency Services Department.
Hemmer will serve as the general contractor for the project. Founded in 1921, the firm has been a construction leader in the Greater Cincinnati region for decades and has grown into one of the region’s largest commercial general contractors, supporting projects across asset classes and markets.
