@properties Commercial, the commercial division of Chicago’s largest real estate brokerage firm, has announced that long-time associate, Mike Rourke, has been elevated to the role of managing broker. @properties Commercial is a boutique, mid-market firm specializing in sales and leasing of office, retail, industrial and multi-family properties and land.
Rourke’s commercial real estate career spans more than 35 years, with experience in sales, leasing, property management, asset management and development. He has spent the past 12 years at @properties Commercial, where he has consistently been one of the firm’s top-producing brokers while also managing a variety of development and investment projects for outside clients and as a principal.
Recently, he oversaw development and leasing for a new 200,000-square-foot mixed-use retail, office and apartment building in the West Loop. He also led the disposition of a 10-property investment portfolio that included commercial condominiums, office buildings and apartment buildings.
Rourke replaces Dan Stratis, who is returning to a full-time sales position with @properties Commercial following 10 years as the firm’s managing broker. In his new role, Rourke will support @properties Commercial’s team of more than 25 brokers and focus on the strategic growth of the firm. He believes the company can double its broker headcount over the next two years.
One of the biggest areas of opportunity is leveraging @properties Commercial’s connection to @properties Christie’s International Real Estate, the region’s No. 1 residential brokerage firm with more than 3,500 agents and 40 offices throughout Chicagoland, Northwest Indiana, Southwest Michigan, and Southeast Wisconsin. Both companies are owned by Co-Founders and Co-CEOs Mike Golden and Thad Wong. The Christie’s International Real Estate network will also give @properties Commercial brokers the opportunity to refer business nationally and internationally.
Prior to joining @properties Commercial in 2010, Rourke was vice president of Venterra Sales and Management Corporation. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and is on the Board of Directors for Maryville Academy.
