Property management software Fortress taps new chief marketing officer

Marc Rutzen

Fortress, a real estate technology firm that creates property management software solutions for multifamily and commercial property owners and operators, announces Marc Ruzten as chief marketing officer. Rutzen brings more than a decade of experience ranging from real estate development and brokerage to founding Enodo, a predictive analytics startup that projected the impact of value-add renovations on rent, expenses, and investment performance in multifamily assets. When Walker & Dunlop acquired Enodo in 2019, Rutzen joined the company and served as senior vice president of information technology before moving up to the role of chief product officer.

In November 2021, Walker & Dunlop invested in Fortress, and serving as chief product officer Rutzen became aware of the platform. He’s since provided strategic consulting and is excited to take on the new role of chief marketing officer.

“The property management software industry has gone too long without real innovation or improvement. Fortress is changing the game with a platform that is unbelievably easy to use and learn, loved by on-site managers, and can onboard a portfolio in a matter of days, not weeks,” said Rutzen. “This is the property management software the real estate industry has been waiting for, and I’m excited to be working with Kerri Davis and the team to help build out Fortress’ inbound marketing and sales infrastructure and accelerate growth.”

Fortress Founder and CEO Kerri Davis says she is looking forward to working with Rutzen in a greater capacity.
