Construction of a $22 million upscale assisted living and memory care community is moving forward at the site of the former Southeast YMCA at 730 Forest Hill Ave. in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
St. Louis-based Provision Living, owner and operator of the community, says the demolition of the YMCA facility was completed in mid September. Crews expect to begin constructing the 116-bed community in early October. Construction is expected to take about 16 months with a projected opening in early 2019.
Provision Living at Forest Hills will be a two-story, 90,000-square-foot senior living community offering 76 assisted-living beds and 30 memory-care beds. The community will have 32 studio, 32 one-bedroom apartments and 11 two-bedroom apartment options.
Plans call for amenities including a beauty salon, exercise room, therapy space, movie theater, chapel, large common spaces and two dining rooms. The community’s exterior design will feature landscaped courtyards, patios and walkways for residents to enjoy.
