CBRE represented the owner of 35 W. Wacker Drive, an investor account advised by the U.S. real estate business of UBS Asset Management, in the extension and expansion of a lease for Paris-based media firm Publicis, which will now occupy 681,545 square feet at the marquee property in Chicago. Known as the “Leo Burnett Building,” the property will now be 100 percent leased with this transaction.

The new lease represents a 50,000-square-foot expansion for Publicis, which is consolidating three other Chicago-area locations into its operations at 35. W. Wacker. Drew Nieman and Christy Domin of CBRE represented UBS Asset Management in the transaction. Mike Christian and Steve Schneider of Cushman & Wakefield represented Publicis.

This latest commitment from Publicis further demonstrates the firm’s long-term dedication to calling this property its home. It also solidifies this building as one of the premier properties in Chicago, as it is now fully-leased to several of the city’s most prestigious firms. 35 W. Wacker is a 1,118,148-square-foot, 50-story, Class A building located on the Chicago River in the Central Loop. Designed by Roche & Dinkeloo, the project was originally developed by The John Buck Company on behalf of Leo Burnett in 1989.
