Engineering and surveying firm raSmith provided landscape architecture, survey and civil-engineering services for Hotel Verdant in Racine, Wisconsin.
Hotel Verdant is Racine’s most recent addition to its downtown hospitality landscape. The site design team at raSmith collaborated with The Kubala Washatko Architects on the renovation of this historic building into a boutique hotel.
The former department store, now includes a first-floor restaurant and coffee shop adjacent to the lobby. Additional amenities include a cafe, green roof with deck and a bar space, fitness center, guest bicycles and meeting and banquet facilities.
There is also an array of solar panels on the roof. The site design included the renovation of the main entry plaza with brick pavers and new streetscape, landscape plantings, valet parking and an outdoor dining areas for the restaurant.
