Raymond Clark has joined Ghafari Associates as executive vice president and brings experience in design leadership, project management and business development. He will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s operations in Chicago and expanding its service offerings in new strategic markets.
Prior the Ghafari, Clark served as managing principal of glob A/E/C firm HOK in its Chicago office. He also led Perkins + Will’s Chicago and London practices as managing director, overseeing a variety of large-scale commercial projects that include: the CBS Media Tower in Chicago, the Bank of America Center in Charlotte, the Chicago Spire and the King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh.
He earned a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Clark began his career with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in 1978 as a structural engineer and transitioned to the senior technical architect, where he was responsible for the coordination of significant international projects like the 88-story Jin Mao Tower in Shanghai and the Hotel Artes, Vila Olimpica in Barcelona.
