RE/MAX broker associate Rebecca Hazzard of RE/MAX of Rock Valley, 606 E. Washington St., Oregon, Ill., was honored recently by the RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network with its 2014 Rising Star, Small Market Award.
The Rising Star Award is given each year to RE/MAX broker associates who have held a real estate license for less than 18 months and whose productivity during the past year was clearly exceptional for a newcomer to the industry. Only the most talented and successful new agents take home this award.
Hazzard captured Rising Star honors despite earning her license in April of last year, giving her a late start on 2014.
“It’s been kind of a wild ride, but I’ve loved it,” was Hazzard’s description of her fast start in a new career. Before joining RE/MAX, she owned a tavern in Oregon, where she grew up. Then Hazzard and her husband moved to nearby German Valley, Ill., to operate a farm and start a family. Ready to return to work, Hazzard decided to capitalize on her long-time fascination with real estate.
“Being a RE/MAX broker has been a great way to mesh work and family,” she said.
