REDICO, a Michigan-based real estate development and investment company announced the closing of the Estero, Fla. development project, further expanding the REDICO footprint into Southwest Florida. The development will be branded under American House Senior Living Communities, an affiliated company of REDICO.

American House Coconut Point will include 54 independent living, 76 assisted living and 64 memory care units, ranging in size from 327 to 879 sq. ft for studio, one-bedroom, one-bedroom/den and two-bedroom/two bath apartments. The development is scheduled to open in the spring of 2016. Rockford Construction Company, Inc. was selected to construct the community.

“With the development of American House Coconut Point, and the upcoming opening of American House Bonita Springs we continue to expand our presence in Southwest Florida, ” said Dale Watchowski, president and CEO of REDICO and American House Senior Living Communities. “These developments support our strategic growth plan, which includes entrance into the Florida senior housing market, as well as expansion throughout the Midwest.”

American House Coconut Point will feature a stunning three-story atrium at the community’s center, and will be an amenity-rich project. Residents will enjoy country club-style dining, an Anytime Café, spa with salon, nail and massage services, media room, expansive library and a fitness center, which will include health and wellness activities and classes.

“True to the American House brand, this community eliminates resident entrance-fees typical to several Florida senior living communities,” said Rob Gillette, American House chief operating officer.

In addition to being a rent-only community, residents will be afforded on-site activities, included in monthly fees, such as fitness classes, yoga, book clubs and several other clubs reflective of resident interests.
