Reed Construction announced its selection to complete exterior canopy renovations for The Buckingham, located at 360 E. Randolph Street in Chicago. Built in 1982, The Buckingham is a 44-floor, 302-unit high-rise residential building that sits just north of historic Grant Park. The building offers both privately owned and for-lease condos.
Reed Construction was chosen by The Buckingham Condominium Association to complete extensive updates to the covering above the building’s main entry, a space totaling over 400 square feet. The project will include a selective demolition of the existing canopy and installation of lighting, roofing heat trace and skylights in the new overhead structure. The work will be tied in to the building automation system.
Construction is set to begin at the end of June and conclude in September. John Mrowczynski will lead the team for Reed as project executive, and Dan Cohen will act as project manager. Architectural services will be provided by Fujikawa Johnson Gobel Architects.
