Reed Construction has been selected to complete an 11,250-square-foot remodel of the Acute Care Rehabilitation Center at MacNeal Hospital, located at 3249 South Oak Park Avenue in Berwyn, Illinois. The healthcare facility chose Reed Construction to complete renovations, with work slated to begin this month.
For more than a century, MacNeal Hospital has been proving quality healthcare to the Berwyn community. Today, it serves the medical needs of over 1 million people in the near west and southwest suburbs of Chicago. The 427-bed facility is also a fully accredited teaching hospital.
Reed Construction will perform a demolition and complete rebuild of the rehab facility, which will include updates to mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems along with all the finishes. This project also involves upgrading a major portion of the base bid electrical infrastructure. Renovations will be completed on an expedited schedule, with substantial completion targeted for early September.
Senior Project Manager Rich Melone is leading the construction team for Reed. Joe Kozlowski is the project manager, Mac Flasch is the project engineer and Scott Hansen is the superintendent. Architectural services will be provided by MRF, Ltd. of Western Springs, Illinois and interior design services will be provided by In.design, inc. of Boca Raton, Florida.
