Related Midwest has topped off One Bennett Park, the developer’s ultra-luxury residential tower at 451 E. Grand Avenue in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood. Once completed, the 836-foot building will be the city’s tallest, all-residential skyscraper.
“The topping off of One Bennett Park represents a construction milestone not only for this project, but for all of Chicago and Streeterville in particular,” said Curt Bailey, president of Related Midwest.
Robert A.M. Stern Architects designed the project and Lendlease acted as general contractor. The art deco-inspired building is clad in limestone and classic step-ups along the building’s façade provide a distinctive look. The residential tower and adjacent Bennett Park—a 1.7-acre green space designed by renowned landscape architecture firm Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates—are scheduled to be completed in mid-2019.
All 279 apartments and the first wave of condos will be delivered later this year. The 69 condominium residences will be located on floors 41 through 66 and include two-, three- and four-bedroom plans averaging 3,200 square feet. In addition to the building amenities for all residents on level three, owners will have access to an exclusive amenity floor on level 41, as well as their own porte-cochère and lobby entrance at street level.
“Today, as we celebrate the full height of One Bennett Park, we honor the tireless efforts of the many tradespeople who have literally laid the foundation for this ambitious project and gotten us to this important milestone,” said Don Biernacki, senior vice president of construction at Related Midwest. “Inside the lower-level apartments, custom trim and premium cabinetry, countertops and tile installations have been completed by our talented craftsmen. We’re grateful to our partners, including Lendlease, RAMSA and GREC Architects, for helping us realize our vision for this site day by day, floor by floor.”
