Select Sites Commercial Real Estate announced that RESTO Athletic (Restoration Apparel Company, LLC) has signed a lease to establish its new world headquarters on the entire second floor of the historic RS Impact Exchange at 3110 Troost Avenue, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Representing a major expansion, the mission-aligned athletic apparel manufacturer will occupy approximately 8,100 square feet (specifically 8,189 usable square feet), moving from its nearby facility at 1220 E. 31st Street.
The RS Impact Exchange is a vibrant community-centered retail and social impact hub developed and operated by the local nonprofit Reconciliation Services. The project reimagines the vacant, historic 1920-built Baker Shoe Building as a self-sustaining economic engine where 100% of the tenant lease proceeds are reinvested directly into Reconciliation Services’ client programs and the revitalization of the Troost corridor. This $1.3M Jackson County funded project will add a stunning new west entrance, ADA accessibility and an elevator to the building.
This development marks the next big milestone for Father Justin Mathews, Chief Executive Officer of Reconciliation Services, following the historic, beautiful $16M major redevelopment of the Reconciliation Services campus at 3101 Troost Avenue.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome RESTO Athletic to the RS Impact Exchange,” said Father Justin Mathews, CEO of Reconciliation Services. “This partnership perfectly reflects our shared commitment to community healing, dignity, and economic reconciliation. By bringing stable, living-wage jobs and a strong social mission to 31st and Troost, RESTO Athletic is helping us transform this historic corner and write a new chapter of growth and opportunity for our neighbors.”
RESTO Athletic, led by CEO MJ Mitchell, is a custom sublimated sports jersey and team uniform manufacturer serving teams, youth organizations and leagues. As a licensed manufacturing partner of RCX Sports, RESTO produces for the NFL Flag, MLS GO, Jr. NBA, NHL Street, and USTA programs. Founded on the principles of “restorative entrepreneurship,” the company stands out in the textile industry by ensuring ethical manufacturing practices and paying life-lifting wages well above industry norms across its global facilities in the Dominican Republic, Egypt, and the Philippines.
Construction is currently underway on the second floor of the RS Impact Exchange, with project management being handled by MC Realty. Renovations are transforming the space into a state-of-the-art facility, introducing a new west-facing entrance from the parking lot, a shared conference room, elevator, and beautifully finished common areas that blend the building’s historic masonry with modern design elements.
Landlord representation for the transaction was led by Susan Scott, Senior Vice President, and Sheryl Vickers, CCIM, President, of Select Sites Commercial Real Estate.
“Helping bring RESTO Athletic’s headquarters to the RS Impact Exchange is a dream transaction that sets the stage for the last retail space we have available on that block that will be ready for a strong community tenant later this year!,” said Sheryl Vickers, CCIM, President of Select Sites. “This move not only anchors the second floor of this beautifully redeveloped building but also brings a highly successful, fast-growing company with an incredible heart to the 31st and Troost corridor. Alongside first-floor tenants Kuhl.chr Luxury Salon Suites and the upcoming highly impactful Mazuma Credit Union branch, (also under construction now!) the RS Impact Exchange is rapidly emerging as a model for moral, community-focused commercial development.”
RESTO Athletic is anticipated to open and fully operate its new headquarters at the RS Impact Exchange in early 2027.
