Oakbrook Terrace-based ARCO/Murray National Construction Company Inc. recently attended a ribbon cutting ceremony held by CenterPoint Properties at the newly constructed Lawson Products distribution center.
ARCO/Murray was contracted by CenterPoint Properties to perform the design and construction of a state-of-the-art distribution center for Lawson. The facility serves as Lawson’s national distribution center allowing the company to consolidate its Des Plaines, Vernon Hills and Addison facilities into one distribution center. An extensive site selection process was undertaken, evaluating existing facilities versus ground-up construction.
After analyzing the data across multiple sites, Lawson selected a brownfield site in McCook. The 306,000-square-foot building consists of a 10,000-square-foot high-hazard H3 room, a 15,000-square-foot office area and a state-of-the-art multilevel conveyor mezzanine sorting system.
The ARCO/Murray team included Brad Dannegger, Christian Evangelista and Mark Houser. CenterPoint Properties was represented by Ed Harrington and John Lass. Jack Rosenberg, Fred Regnery and Mike Senner of Colliers International represented Lawson Products in the lease transaction. Tom Neri and Marty Kelly from Lawson Products played important roles in the development of the project.
